Jun 14, 2010 · A recirculated external gate sounds (just a tad bit louder) exactly like a regular exhaust should. A non-recirculated (dumped) will sound like you are running an open downpipe when the wastegate is open. the 38mm size is how big the valve is on the wastegate. 38mm is perfectly fine for this application.

Pros: More power, much larger than the little internal wastegate hole, no boost spiking, less manifold pressure over internal, flows better than internal, no interfering turbulance with the exhaust coming out of the turbo.
I have a T4 twin scroll 6boost manifold with a single 38mm Tial wastegate. There is a gap between the two halves of the manifold. You can't see it in the pic, but the center flange does not connect all the way to one side.

How is a EGR delete going to decrease backpressure, doesn't the external wastegate kit vent back into the downpipe and exhaust or does it vent to the atmosphere and if it does do atmosphere i can see that it would decrease pressure but at the expensive of unmuffled exhaust gases sound like #### venting out, ask me how i know how bad that sounds ...

Iam running a stock rb25det manifold that has been ported and modded for external wastegate. Works fine, I have used it for 4 events since fitting it. The previous owner used it for about 3 years or so iirc, its been to nurnurgring a couple times and was fitted to an rb20 with 403hp.
